This is the first platform I received support for my creations. I believe, the idea of a cup of coffee gives people ease on tipping money. Great community and support.
From now on, I told all me members to please stop donating at me via the "Buy Me a Coffee" site; they scammed my money. As you can see, that site is designed for a donation system that created an account to receive donations from random people, and now they will ask me for proof of where I got the donation, etc. like WT! Why did they ask? It's always our privacy who donated to us! and it's not their business since they are deducting our money for fees!

Hi Faqka, as you mentioned you have all the freedom to collect donations from random people. However, our responsibility as a company is to maintain a safe environment for all our creators.
When an account shows a high rate of failed or blocked transactions, we may request additional details. This isn't an invasion of privacy but rather a precaution to protect both you and our platform from potential fraudulent activities, such as money laundering or credit card fraud.
We don't seek personal information about you or your supporters. Instead, we ask about the nature of your business and your use-case to ensure compliance with our Terms of Service (TOS). Also, I can see that your account is already approved by our moderation team.

Kofi, Cashapp, Crypto are all better than this.
A sketchy company with poor customer service (based in the Phillipines).
As poor as the alternatives are I can't say that BuyMeACoffee is any better.
They are just as unaccountable as those other companies and frankly even worse.
Your money might get caught in limbo or perhaps things will work perfectly.
Payments to some creators work and some creators don't. All with no explanation, despite weeks of back and forth with customer service (text-based in the Philippines).
I hope that some ambitious entrepreneur comes out with alternative to PayPal and the rest of the hopelessly unaccountable 100% remote companies like this.
Dan, our moderation team deactivates accounts only after a careful three-step review. Mistakes are rare, and deactivation usually occurs if there's a violation of our Terms of Service or an unverifiable use-case.
After any deactivation, we email the creator with the reasons, and if there's a remaining balance, it's refunded to the supporters for security reasons. Thus, your claim about holding your amount is invalid.
Even if I ignore all your unsubstantiated claims, your offensive remarks do not really deserve a reply. Yes, two of our team members (out of 30) are from Philippines. What does it have anything to do with your experience?
I specifically made an account just so I can leave a review for this GARBAGE SCAMMING PLATFORM.
Imagine this scenario:
You made a buymeacoffee account as an alternative to an online store so you can sell products. You sell the products to your customers but you are unable to withdraw your money and no reason is given to you. You email them and wait for 2 weeks. You receive a reply that you are unable to withdraw your money, but you can always refund them to your customers. Still no information is given to you, even though you provided all the necessary proof and screenshots. You send another email - you wait another 2 weeks for another pointless reply that does not help you at all. And they keep claiming your money is "not being held" because you can always send them back to your customers. You are now dying of starvation because you chose buyMeAcoffee instead of using PayPal or Patreon.
Do you buy your food at the supermarket and get your money refunded?
Pretty good tool if you want to receive tips or initiate a conversation. If your purpose is limited to such a use case, BMC will serve the purpose. If you want more, you will have to hunt for more comprehensive alternatives.

HORRIBLE!!! I sent money to a YouTube friend in Mauritius, she didnât receive it. I had to email this poorly run company more than 6 times to get a real Info. Then they told me they had refunded my money, only itâs not in my account. Looking more & more like a giant scam. If they donât find my money, I will file a police report.
Dear Jeani, I want to clarify that refunds are only processed for creators' accounts if they are deactivated due to a violation of our terms. If we've informed you that the amount has been refunded, it can only be sent to your registered account. Could you please check your bank account to confirm? This company is a joke. After 2 years of having money transferred to my account, I am unable to withdraw them because they don't support payments to EU country Bulgaria. Imagine the scam in this stupid company.
Hi Your Coach, I see that this is an old review. Just to let you know, we've introduced more payment methods, allowing withdrawals to over 150+ countries.

Requires you to provide links to where you disply your bmc links but resets the text box each time failing to accept provided links.
